Auto Filter Function getting 'stuck'
When using the Auto Filter on my spreadsheet, quite often I find when I try
to filter it seems 'stuck'. The only way I can deal with it is to remove the auto filter function, highlight my spreadsheet and "unhide" (as anything filtered out stays hidden). Then I can reset up the auto filter. I happens quite a bit and find it annoying. What is causing this to happen, what can I do to avoid? Look forward to any comments! -- dlb - Planner |

Do you actually need to remove the autofilter, or will Data/ Filter/ Show
All do the trick? -- David Biddulph "dlb" wrote in message ... When using the Auto Filter on my spreadsheet, quite often I find when I try to filter it seems 'stuck'. Auto Filter Function getting 'stuck'
Just tried "Data/Filter/Show All" and it did nothing. I need to actually
remove the filter. It seems to get 'jammed' and the drop down boxes do not come up. It has been happening a lot more to me the last fews days (worse than normal). I can work on the spreadsheet fine for several hours using the Auto filter, then suddenly it just won't work and the only solution is to actually remove the auto filter, highlight the spreadsheet and "unhide" then put the Auto filter back in, then continue until it happens again (sometimes an hour later, sometimes within a few minutes!) It is happening with Excel in general, not just one specific spreadsheet. I do ensure that I scan/defragment my computer on a regular basis, but that does not seem to help this issue. I have just received a brand new computer at work (XP) two weeks ago, but also had the same problem with my old computer (which was only two years old). I am using Microsoft Office Excel 2003. Look forward to your comment, thanks! -- dlb - Planner "David Biddulph" wrote: Do you actually need to remove the autofilter, or will Data/ Filter/ Show All do the trick? -- David Biddulph "dlb" wrote in message ...
