I have an estimating sheet that I made in Excel. I allow my estimators to
enter a percentage to markup materials, and Excel computes a selling price based on cost. I want the the data entry cell to require a minimum 10%. If they try to enter a number less than 10%, I need Excel to warn them, or show some sort of error. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks. Steve |

Select the data entry cell, do datavalidation, allow decimal, then from
dropdown select greater than or equal to, then type in 0.1 in the minimum box. Click the error alert tab and type in the message you want them to get if the enter anything less than 10%. Click OK, then format the cell as percentage. Note that it can be overcome by copy and pasting in a lesser value, I doubt they would do that in this case though -- Regards, Peo Sjoblom "Steve Z" <Steve wrote in message ...
