The problem comes because I want non consecutive rows copied. The clipboard
is copying all of the intervening rows that I don't need and putting them in the clipboard to paste either to another workbook or to another application. I am capturing the specific rows that I need using the Ctrl button. |

Copying non-consecutive rows is tough because Excel usually wants to
copy/paste continguous block of cells. But there is a trick you can use: 1. select an unused column and enter 1 in every row you want copied 2. switch on AutoFilter Data Filter Autofilter and pick 1 from the pull-down this will hide all the rows you don't want to copy 3. select the visible rows and then do the copy/paste. -- Gary''s Student - gsnu200714 |

Thanks so much for your response. I'm going to wait for a couple of more
responses....but if nothing else comes along this is close enough to the answer that I am looking for to solve a big problem for my employees. Jim
I'm using Excel 2003 and don't have this problem. I hold CTRL key and select rows 1, 4, 8, 12, 14, 23 and Copy. Open another workbook and paste. Data goes into consecutive rows. Only time this fails is if I have two instances of Excel running. In that case, the intervening rows also get copied.
