soI am trying to use the filled upright triangle in a VBA code. The VBA
editor does not show the symbol when I try to copy - paste it from the
windows character map. However I am able to copy it to an Excel sheet.

Also the code returned by the function for the triangle is 63. Whereas the
symbol returned by code 63 is the character "?"

Why does this happen so?

It depends which font you are using - you may need to use one of the
symbol fonts or wingdings to see symbols rather than the normal
characters.
