Default text lists - begin typing names

I have a list of teams in one column, i would like to begin typing a team
name in a separate cell and excel will recognize the name and fill in the
rest...similar to how some search engines work. is this possible?

Default text lists - begin typing names

The only way I can get Excel to "autocomplete" is to:
a) type a list of names ABOVE the cells you want to type into.
b) hide THOSE rows
c) use the rows beneath for typing the names.
d) do not leave any blank cells between the hidden list and your list or
within either one or it won't work.

Hope it helps!
