Default if/then formula

I have a current spreadsheet with dollars for each employee in their home
dept. this is the current formula I have -
=SUM(IF($A$2:$A$160=B178,$G$2:$G$160,0)). I want to expand the cell range to
163 but when I make this change, it tells me "#VALUE!". Help!!
