Excel 2003 formula issues
first problem; when I enter a formula in some columns the formual works, in
others the formula appears. second problem; when I enter a formula and drag or copy it into other cells in the same column I get the same result for all cells even though the result should be different. I've copy and pasted the spreadsheet to new sheets with the same result but when I send the sheet to via email and it works on my home computer. Any thoughts???????????? |

The columns where the formula appears rather than the result is most most
likely formatted as text. Change it to General or something more appropriate Formulas appear to not update when your calculation method is set to Manual. Go to Tools-Option-Calculation and set it to Automatic. It is a little flakey in that opening a file saved with Manual calculation will cause all open files to go to Manual, so be careful. I thank you very much. I've been dealing with this for a week and it's
driving me nuts. Excel is a very powerful tool but at the same a little quirky. Once again I thank you.
