Hello again -
My question is this- I would like a drop-down in the box to say "Red, Yellow, Blue" but then I would like the text in the box to be "R, Y or B". Is this possible? |

One play to achieve it would be to use a combo box from the control toolbox toolbar Try this sample from my archives which illustrates: http://savefile.com/files/221672 Combo box from control toolbox toolbar_Example2.xls -- Max Singapore http://savefile.com/projects/236895 xdemechanik --- |

Max,
Thanks for your super-quick response! I downloaded/printed/adapted your instructions to work with my sheet. I still cannot make it work perfectly, even though I have put letter codes in the "codes" column, it interprets those as numbers and gives me the number of the choice I've selected. Also, when I go to properties in the format combo-box section, it does not have bound column, column count or column widths. Lastly, Is there any way to make the box disappear after the selection is made so that you can see the choice if it's right on top of it? Max-
My last question- I promise. :-) I have it working fine now, but the options in the drop-down are smushed together. Could you help me determine how to alter the size of the drop-down? Try tinkering with the Font / Font style / Size in "Properties"
Click inside the font line, then click on the little dotted gray box to open the Font dialog (I used Gill Sans MT Regular 8) -- Max Singapore http://savefile.com/projects/236895 xdemechanik --- "Katie" wrote: Max- My last question- I promise. :-) I have it working fine now, but the options in the drop-down are smushed together.
