Auditing Question

Hi All,

Two part question:

First, is it possible to use the audit function at all if you've
protected the sheet you're using against changes?

Second, if yes, is it possible, in a locked sheet (with the equations
still visable) to set up something (a macro perhaps?) that will "Trace
Precedents" just by clicking on that cell and then "Remove All Arrows"
when the cell is unclicked.

Thank you for any assistance you can give,
Joe

Joe,

though I've not used those features, if you are experiencing inability
to do as you want, then I'd venture it is not possible. I've setup
workbooks that I locked and then discovered that not even the sort
function is enabled.

I developed an extensive personal accounting system that I wanted to
share and tried to lock down but the moment I did, I disabled vital
features required to make the spreadsheet work.

So, based on that experience, it seems like the answer would be "no."
