Dropdown Lists and alternative cell references
 

I have a two column sheet which has a descriptor cell and then a cell with a
value for that descriptor. Looking at the example below, does anyone know
how, if I have a dropdown list for "Column A" and someone chooses "Rice", can
I reference "$3" somehow?
Column A Column B
Rice $3
Beans $4
Corn $2

Let's say your data start from A5:B500, and your drop down in A2

in B2 =VLOOKUP(A2,A5:B500,2,0)
