WandaJean

can you create nested formulas within v-lookup; if so how

I have 2 spreadsheets

spreadsheet A contains Social, Dependent Name and Relationship
spreadhsheet B contains Social, Dependent Name

Query: Where Social and Dependent Name match on Sheets A and B I want to
return relationship to spreadsheet B.

If nested v-lookup is not best way to achieve - what do you recommend?

Assuming your data on sheet A (call it sheet1) is in columns A thru C, then
this formula on sheet2 will pull in the data in column C

=INDEX(Sheet1!$C$1:$C$7,MATCH(Sheet2!A1&Sheet2!B1, Sheet1!$A$1:$A$7&Sheet1!$B$1:$B$7))

this is an array formula, so you must enter it by pressing Ctrl-Shift-Enter
