I have a series of numbers which show as text. How do I convert the field to
a number?

hi Funkyfido,

The following assumes you mean numbers formatted as text (i.e. they're
left-aligned).

First off, make sure the cells are formatted with the appropriate numeric
format. Next, in an unused cell, enter a '1'. Then, copy that cell, select the
errant cells and use Edit|Paste Special|ValuesMultiply.
