I copied the XM radio channel lineup to excel and the displayed information
is something like The '60s* But the cell actually has the http://etc etc etc to take you back to the XM radio site. I would like to strip all the url data from the cell and just leave the text display. Pasting into notepad gets rid of the url data but leaves everything all run together. Thanks in Advance, GWB |

Yes, I tried that but the Paste Special has only Html, unicode text and
text. The text paste results in a single line with all fields concatenated with one another, just like notepad. A normal paste works ok in separate cells, I just need to extract the text. What I meant was a second copy paste from Excel. I.e.:
Select radio page text. Copy In excel paste. Select pasted data. Go to a new sheet, Paste Special... Values Keeping the selection you can also Paste Special... Formats. It will retain all formatting, even link formatting, but link functionality is lost. Does this help? George W. I "copied" the XM radio channel lineup to excel
Not sure, but another option might be: From the Menu: Data | Import External Data | New Web Query.. Type the following in the address bar: (if it's correct) http://xmro.xmradio.com/xstream/channel_lineup.jsp Play w/ options... I got the same results by visiting the web site above, and right clicking in Internet Explorer, and selecting "Export to Microsoft Excel." -- HTH :) Dana DeLouis Windows XP & Office 2003 "George W.
