ok, while i was waiting i was able to do a conditional format , but for each
cell at a time..
this takes forever.

i know i was prob not to clear or i don't understand...

i have 5 colums.. the sixth is a " min" function that shows the min price
(value) of all 5 collums
i then have to go to each cell individually to do a conditional format to
make the cell of the cheapest price show up above the others

is there a quick way to drag that conditional format through the whole colum?
or was that what you had sent me? thanx again for your time!! john

Assuming your data range from A2:E100
Select your range, then go to Format Conditional Formatting Formula Is
=A2=Min($A$2:$E$100)
Format any color you like

John,

Please *stay* in the same thread

Elkar had mentioned clearly in his response:
Select your entire range of data

(and to ensure that A1 is the active cell)

before commencing with the rest of the steps for the CF ..

Suggest you try it again ..

Wrt your line he
.. i was able to do a conditional format,
but for each cell at a time..

If so, you could try propagating the CF using the Format Painter

Select the cell which is correctly CF'd.

Double-click on the Format Painter (brush icon)
-cursor will turn into a "brush"

Then just "paint" over the desired range by selecting it
Press Esc when done to revert the cursor to normal
