Advance to predetermined cell
 

Usually when I need to do this, it's because I don't want them to type in any
other cells except specific ones either... if that's the case, this will not
only advance thru those cells, but keep anyone from changing any other cell
as well. Select the cells for which you wish to allow data entry, chose
format cells and on the protection tab uncheck locked. Protect the sheet
(tools, protection) and leave only select unlocked cells checked. Hitting
enter will advance thru unlocked cells by column.

A very good idea as long as he does not need to interact with any other cells
on the worksheet - something I am not sure of yet.

A good idea and certainly one with very little overhead.

Just a note: cannot be used in versions earlier than 2002 unfortunately.

They did not have the protection options afforded us in 2002 and later.

All you could do was Tab from left to right, top to bottom to unlocked cells.
