Template Wizard with Data Tracking

Hi,

I have set up a template and a database using Template Wizard with Data
Tracking. However, each time I save a record (ie a workbook using the
template) it just over-writes the first line in the database. So instead of
getting a list of records in my database, I just get the more recent record.

Does anyone have any ideas why this might be happening?

Thanks,

Will

Gord,

Its Excel 2000. In terms of the template and Db - they are just derived from
the original workbook that I started with - as done by the Template Wizard.

HTH - and thanks for any info you can give.

Also worth asking, is the Template Wizard with Data Tracking the best thing
to be using anyway, or is there something more up-to-date and appropriate?

Thanks.

Gord,

I've been playing around and I think the problem was that although I had
saved the template as a template, it wasn't saved in the Template folder.
Once I had set it up in the template folder (on the C drive), it then seemed
to work.

I am running 2003 and cannot get the Template Wizard(which is not supplied with
2003 but can be downloaded) to run at all on a new workbook although runs fine
with older Templates such as the Invoice.xlt from XL97.

Error message "cannot run wizard while Excel is embedded in another application"

Don't know how to clear that so can't do any testing for you.

Try this How-to KB Article from MS for Excel 2000
