There are 4 or 5 different files on the internet that I combine into a
workbook to manage an inventory of products. The primary worksheet is located in a members-only area of a website. I have tried using an excel web query to update my local file and it fails. The error is "invalid web query". I believe it's failing because of the security. I have found that I can use R1C1 reference style and pull the spreadsheet down. Works fine. The other 3 or 4 files are located INSIDE zip files on the web. Don't have a clue why they do it this way. So, I download the archives, extract the files, and then incorporate them into my workbook. I'm wondering if it is possible to use R1C1 to access a file that's INSIDE a zip on the web?? Or, is there another way that I can accomplish the same thing?? I'm using Excel 2000 on top of Windows ME, if that makes any difference. Thanks. Barb |
