You can create a list of symbols on your worksheet:

Select a cell, and hold the Alt key, then on the number keypad, type a 1
Press the Enter key, and the cell should contain a smiley face.
In the cell below, use the same technique, but type a 2.
Continue with the list to create a variety of symbols

Then, use the technique shown here, to create a data validation dropdown
list:

I am using notebook I dont see number keypad

There may be an Fn key that you can press, to use some of the letter
keys as the number keypad.
