Default How do I put a strikethrough in cell if other cell has same info?

I would like to find out how to have six cells in excel that have letters
representing names in it, be strikethrough if I put one of those same letters
(initials) in another cell.

This seems to work a little but not quite as i hoped. It seems that when I
place the initals in a cell, it waits until i put intitals in another cell
before it will strikethrough. Also, it doesn't seem to pick up on all the
cells selected A1:A6.

Basically what I have working is a schedule for work. In the cells A11:C22
and A24:C25 I have intials of employees. In the cells G3:G34 I have to place
those intials from A11:C22, A24:C25 into. I would like for the cells
A11:C22, A24:C25 to be strikethrough when they are typed into G3:G34. Any
thoughts would be of great help.

Thanks,
Steve

Assuming your 6 cells were A1:A6 and the other range was say E3:H16, selecet
A1:A6, hit Format / Conditional Formatting, change 'cell value is' to
'formula is' and drop in

=COUNTIF($E$3:$H$16,A2)0

hit the format button on the dialog box, choose the foint tab and select
strikethrough. Now just hit OK.

Have you tried Conditional Formatting under Format menu.

Not quite sure how it would work, but you do have the Strikethrough option
available.
