Excel worksheet comparison software

Hi all

Can anyone recommend a really good Excel worksheet comparison software
package? I've tried a couple out and they seem to miss things , or
report back in an obscure or unhelpful way.

I just need an accurate reliable program which will compare two
worksheets and show me the rows where the differences are.

Hope you can help.

What are the "differences" you are looking for? Cell color? Font?
Font color? Cell value? Bold? Text alignment? Comments? Number of cells
occupied? Number of blank cells? Etc. Etc. HTH Otto

Hi Otto

Well , nothing cosmetic like colour or font or alignment etc. All
value-based. The physical content differences between the two sheets.

I need something to show me :

1. Which rows have value changes in any of the cell contents.

2. Which rows have been added.

That's about it really. It needs to be deadly accurate , and to report
it's findings in a comprehensible way.

Do you know of anything that can do this?

You won't find something ready-made to do what you want. You'll just
have to roll your own. That is, you'll have to develop it for yourself.
One question I have is what do you mean by "which rows have been added"?
Take a little time and describe to me what you have. What is changing
values in these two sheets? Were these two sheets exactly the same at some
time? I don't want you to describe your sensitive data to me, just make up
some data. But give me some idea of what you are wanting to do and maybe
I'll be able to help you with it. HTH Otto
