Hyperlink Problem
From a worksheet (Excel Office 2003) on my computer I create a hyperlink to a
Word file on our server. All works fine until I save the worksheet, which changes the hyperlink address, so it no longer functions. The changes are; it removes the drive letter and adds %20 in front of each word in the address. Can you help? |
Hyperlink Problem
The %20 in a link is the code for a space, so that did not change anything.
I expect it remove the drive letter because it is the same as the workbook. Perhaps you can change to using the Hyperlink Worksheet Function instead of object links. Using the Hyperlink Worksheet Function the links will not change nor will they adjust if you insert/delete rows/columns/cells. --- HTH, David McRitchie, Microsoft MVP - Excel My Excel Pages: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/excel.htm Search Page: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/search.htm "Globe Director" wrote in message ... Hyperlink Problem
Hi David:
I have a similar problem. When I save the file, it doesn't change the link but it all of a sudden gives me the error message that the link does not work and to check the address. It works before I save or before autorecover saves it, but not after. I am on a network so I've tried to change it to the server\share on all the links but it does the same thing. The funny thing is, I'll click it, it'll give me the error message, if I click inside the formula tab anywhere, without changing the address, and then click on another cell, it'll work but when I save again, it doesn't work. I have also downloaded the service pack 2 and this hasn't helped either. can you help? thanks Jen "David McRitchie" wrote: The %20 in a link is the code for a space, so that did not change anything.
