How do I delete a blank worksheet w/in a saved workbook file? When I go to
select 'delete' it is greyed out.

Check if the spreadsheet is protected (Tools, Protection). If you have an option to Unprotect workbook, choose this option (you may need to enter a password). When unprotected, just rightclick the name of the tab at the bottom of the screen and select delete.
