UNABLE TO RECORD A MACRO
I'm learning to use macros, basically by using the record mode.
I recorded yesterday about 20 macros and all worked perfectelly. But today.... I have two worksheets to work on. I record one macro in the first worksheet, trying to apply a "vlookup" in the second one and then just copy - paste special - values only the updated data of the second wordsheet. First of all the macro didn't work properly. But the most important is that i tried to assign a new one and now a message pops up "unable to record". Can anyone help me???!!!!!!!! |
UNABLE TO RECORD A MACRO
See
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/212172/ there are a couple of others going back to Excel 97 at least, same topic, same description of it, with same cause for it. Probably still exists in current version of Excel. Other potential problem is that one of the VB libraries on your hard drive got glitched up which a repair install of Excel should fix. Try recording a macro in a new workbook, with just that new workbook open, to see if you can record there. If you can, then not glitched library and no reason to mess with Excel installation.
