data grouping

Hi. I am learning to group and outline data and wonder if there is a
tutorial or anything out there? Right now I use the auto outline but I don't
understand how it organizes things. I seem to get the same outline no matter
if the data headers are in the same column or seperated.

Thanks,

Todd

Thanks,

My situation is that I need to group 4 layers deep and all my cells do not
have formulas. The auto outline groups only two levels on this sheet, and
the manual grouping skips either one or many rows in the 4th level.

The help section is where I started. I don't see where it explains why it
misses some rows or includes many rows instead of only the ones I select.
