how do i get a value to appear in the cell and not the formula

When I enter a sum value for more than 30 cells in a column the formula
appears in the cell that I want the total to appear. Help me please

Format the cell as General
Hit F2, then the Enter key to reenter the formula.

If that doesn't help, maybe you're looking at formulas.
tools|options|view tab|uncheck formulas
