Brain Dead: Need help with ????
adding a range of numbers within a column based on a corresponding cell. I have two columns, one with account numbers and one with dollar amounts. I've sorted the range so that all account numbers are grouped together. I want Excel to add all the dollar amounts associated with each account. Not sure which formula to use? Any help would be appreciated. Hi!
One way to do this is to use Subtotals. Assume column A contains the account numbers and in A1 is the header Account. Column B contains the numeric values an in B1 is the header Amount. Select A1 Goto DataSubtotals Make these selections in the user form: At each change in: Account Use function: Sum Add Subtotal to: Amount OK Biff "WarrenC" wrote in message ... adding a range of numbers within a column based on a corresponding cell.
