How do I change how PivotChart data is summarized, from sum to av.
How do I change how PivotChart data is summarized, from Sum to Average for
multilpe fields. It will do 'Average' for the first field, but when you add additional fields, it will only enter them as 'Sum' and not allow them to be changed to 'Average'. Please help, Thanks. |

i'm not experiencing the problem ... when you enter the second you have two rows created so the layout changes to: Average of xyz Sum of bcd now, i just right mouse click where it says "sum of bcd" and choose field settings - average ... does this work for you? if not what version are you running? hope this helps Cheers JulieD "csavage" wrote in message ... Sorry, but this did not help. When I did as you advised, for the first colunm
I got message format 'PivotChart Field'. Whem I clicked on this I got 'Summarize by:' That is fine, but when I drag another field and right click, I now get 'Format Data Series' which a menu that includes tabs for: Patterns, Axis, Y Error Bars, Data Labels, Series Order, Options, but no 'Summarize by'...thats the problem. the version I am running is Office Professional Edition 2003. I think you'll have to change the settings in the PivotTable, instead of
the PivotChart. In the PivotTable, right-click on the field heading, and choose Field Settings. Select one of the 'Summarize by' options, and click OK csavage wrote: Sorry, but this did not help.
