separating names
 

I have a spreadsheet of thousands of names. The names are typed in one
cell: last name, first name. Does anyone know how to split the names
into two different cells?

Hi Mikey

if the names are separete by a ","

use for the last name =left(a2,search(",",a2,1)-1)
for the first name =right(a2,search(",",a2,1)-3)

Select the column with all the names and use DataText to columns. Indicate
that the text is delimited and click on Next. If the names are separated
with a space or a comma, check the appropriate box and click on OK.
