Hi,

I have a problem when trying to access the web page
"https://borsen.dk/investor/kurser/danske-aktier/" through Excel web query.
I constantly get script errors and cannot complete my Excel job. Accessing
the web page the normal way through browser is no problem.

In Internet Explorer I have already done the following without success:

1. Disabled script debugging
2. Disabled notifications about script errors

I hope someone has a solution to the problem. This might as well include vba
code.

I would say do not use a sh*t browser; use FireFox.

I followed your advice but are sorry to say that I still get the same script
error pop up using FireFox.
You can easily try it yourself if you want.
ExcelDataweb query (and insert my link)

I still hope and will be happy if someone else has a better solution to the
problem.

I had a quick go:
In 2007 it simply failed like you.
In 2010 got several script error messages each with OK/Cancel, I OK'd all
the way through, got a small part of the page in Col-A only but nothing
useful.
In 365 got a cryptic message about the page being set for IE11 compatibility
mode but couldn't display anything from the page either in 'table' or 'web'
view.

I have no idea what the problem is. There's a contact link, why not ask if
an Excel web query is possible, or 'get and transform' in later versions.

I've never used that feature but tried it in 365 and FWIW got as far as

Thank you very much for trying to help and for spending your time testing.
I have now come to the conclusion that these script errors occur because of
restrictions related to the actual homepage and there is nothing one can do
to eliminate them.
Using another browser as standard browser does not make any difference. Web
queries in Excel 2007 is always tied to Internet Explorer and cannot be
changed.

Doing the same web request to other web pages can be carried out without any
problems.

I do not keep up with this newer M$ crap, but i think "Edge" s the
next one.
If you system has some version of Win10 it may take Edge and run it
in compatibility mode.

Whilst you've obviously got your own very strong reasons for disliking IE I
think it's misplaced to rely on them for making conclusions about the
particular issue here, at least without relevant evidence to support for the
particular issue with the Excel web query. The web page loads fine in IE in
Win7 and Win10 so the issue is clearly not specifically an IE 'browser'
problem as you assert.

I tested in Win10 + Excel 365, there was no indication of which engine or
whatever behind the scenes it uses to extract data from a web query,
presumably Edge perhaps with some IE but no way to tell.

From what I can make out here the problem is this metatag in the web page:
X-UA-Compatible content= IE=Edge

However from a quick search maybe the problem would be solved the tag in the
html was replaced with this:
X-UA-Compatible: IE=edge.

Only a guess!
