Different criteria in the same pivot table or synchronized navigationin outline format pivot tables
Hi,
I have the following challenge I would really appreciate some support on. I have a set of data showing the monthly performance for a number of business units. I want to present this in three different columns for each unit; Planned Year to Date, Actual Year to Date, Planned End of Year. So one solution that I would love is if there is a way to present the same values (Planned values) based on two different months. Giving me first the planned values for the current month and then the planned values for December. Could I make a pivot table do that in some clever way? The work around option I had in mind would be to have separate pivot table (in outline format) presenting each one column for the individual time periods. THe challenge I get into with that work around solution is that I want the users to be able to drill down the levels in the outline table and of course then this "navigation" in the tables needs to be synchronized. Is there a way I can make the clicks in one pivot table have effect in another equivalent pivot table? I was thinking maybe a slicer addressing both pivot tables could do that but I', not sure that works for the navigation in a outline format table as it does for filtering... Many thanks for any directions on this! //Thomas |
