has Excel software updates disabled VBA functions?

A question for the experts:

I have written a number of excel apps for my use as well as those of my colleagues that have operated flawlessly for many years.

Suddenly, with a number of software patches recently installed, these macros are no longer working as advertised. Our IT group says Microsoft is the cause of these issues, but they can't articulate the specifics of what has changed.

So, does anyone know what (if anything) is going on? Most of the computers in my company are running Windows 7/MS Office 2007 or 2010
