VBA Code to monitor standard toolbar buttons.
 

I am looking for some sample VBA code to:
Monitor an existing standard toolbar button in Word or Excel.
When clicked, perform a short VBA routine to insert some text into
the document at the current position.

And also please explain terminology or point me to a tutorial.

Also, a little newbie tutorial on the while subject would help me
greatly.

What you need to do with built-in menus is referred to as "hooking" the
menu so it runs your code instead of executing its normal action. Take
a look at some of my examples under the topic "Automatic cursor move"
posted by Michel Gauthier on Mar 14th here in this newsgroup
(microsoft.public.excel.programming). The procedure named
'ToggleMenuHooks' is what to look at...
