Automatically email from spreadsheet?

Hello,

I am helping a colleague run for president of our association. I built the website now he needs to send an email to all the members ~15,000 people.

We were given a spreadsheet with first name, last name, and email columns. I would like to be able to send an email to each of the addresses. Ideally, It would also insert their name in the body of the email. Is there a service or program I can use to do this?

My host lets me send 750 emails/hour so I would like it to automatically do this as well. My colleague is willing to pay, but the more economical the better.

Thanks to all.

What you're asking is to help you spam 15,000 people.

Just to put it in context, think about if you were to receive an email from
your colleague's opponent: "Dear dongemus: I am running for president, please
vote for me, etc."

If you received such an email, would that *really* sway your vote toward that
guy? Or would you delete it before you got to the second line?

Much more fun this way.

I have cross-posted to microsoft.public.word.mailmerge.fields which is a
more appropriate newsgroup.
The good news is that it is possible.
I would partition the data into a set of Excel files, each describing no
more than 750 members.
It would be embarrassing to get such large numbers of email wrong.
I would first try getting it right for a single address.
I would then try it for 10, and then for 100.
Only then would I try using the real data. You may find that modules of
600 names may work best.
Does your friend have the right to email all those members?
How will he handle obsolete addresses?

What version of Office is he using?
You want help on mailmerge before you start.
