hyperlinks to folders - flakey?
Last night with a client and laptop using W7, Ex2010...
He had hyperlinks to local folders that stopped working after an attempted presentation on a projector. I looked at the properties and I would bet my life the links were properly formed. I'm sitting here on an XPsp3 box and cannot recreate it. HLinks seem to open folders no matter how I try and break them. He said others in his office say Ex2010 hyperlinks are flakey and they didn't count on them anymore. Ever heard of such a thing? These wb's were birthed in Ex2010 so there shouldn't be any update issues. I googled and couldn't find much. I know this is sparse but if you have any hunches. I'll be getting his laptop back next week and can pursue it where is misbehaves. Thank you. |

I built the links and they work fine.... until. I moved the wb to another directory and they all broke! These are spec'd absolutely. I had to install a vba sub to rebuild the links whenever things go south. AAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaa. This can't be right. No wonder his presentation bombed. Example link: file:///C:\Document ......\afile.pdf Point me to the truth. Thank you. |
