Two-tone color column chart

So you know, I have googled for a solution not to avail.

Is there a way to change the color on a column chart if values a
negative on the HORIZONTAL axis?

I’ve uploaded an example chart: http://home.comcast.net/~gegene/prob_01.gif

I’d like the negative column in a different value than the positive
ones.

Is this possible without splitting the data source between positive
and negative values?

If your main problem is that you don't want to split the pos and neg
values manually -you want it to happen automatically - then you could
make two new series from your original one. One of the new series is
zero when x is negative and p when x is positive. The other is vice
versa. Then make a stacked bar column chart with the two series. The
two colours should appear auyomatically.

Thanks but that's what I was trying to avoid. I thought maybe there is
a feature with which I am not familiar that would allow me to chart
two different colors with one source.
