I have an open workbook on PC 1 in which values are updated every second. I
want to transfer some cells (values) to an other workbook on PC 2. How is
this possible with NetDDE?
Thanks for help in advance

NetDDE

Hi reklamo.

Three steps are necessary:

1. enable and start "Network DDE DSDM" and "Network DDE" in both pc's

2. on serverside, each share expose to network a single server-topic pair; in excel you can expose a single file per share.
Run ddeshare utility (from start-run.. ddeshare); create new share, and name it; then in each of three rows you must insert:
App name: excel.sheet
Topic name: your_excel_file_pathname

3. link your 'client' cells with remote sheet cells

='\\serverhostname\NDDE$'|sharename!'!sheetname!R1 C1').

WARNING! DDE is an older technology that is not secure!
Reference: last part of Microsoft KB238133

Good luck!
Lorenzo
