In cell m3 is 1/1/2010 in cell n3 is 4/1/2010. (the actual year will
change every year)

I want to say that if the date in cell z3 is between the date in M3 and the
date in N3, return 1

I don't find a function for "between". HELP please.

if you want "between" to INCLUDE the end points:
=IF(AND(Z3=M3,Z3<=N3),1,0)
if you want "between" to EXCLUDE the end points:
=IF(AND(Z3M3,Z3<N3),1,0)
