Put something in the "ThisWorkbook" Module in the Workbook_Open event.
You can refer to "ThisWorkbook.ReadOnly and maybe put a msgbox in to let them know that it's READ ONLY. -- HTH, Barb Reinhardt "Jock" wrote: On occasion, users have 'forgotten' they are in a WB as 'read only' and then have to re-enter the data when they go back in with read/write access.
