protect macro
I created a template in excel including vb macros

Select VBA project properties, click on the protection tab and check the Lock project for viewing and key your password. That's it. |

I've seen how to do it for Worksheet and maybe workbook passwords, but not VB

You pretty much need a hex editor or a commercial application for VBA
