Controlling 3270 Through Excel
Does anyone know how to control 3270 Through Excel? I can't find ANYthing
online or on Books24x7 on learning how to do this. The only thing I located was on Jolly Giant's software page for their QWS3270 application. Thanks, Elbio Option Explicit Private app As QWS3270AUTOMATION.Application Private screen As QWS3270AUTOMATION.screen Private Sub FormExit_Click() Unload Me End Sub Private Sub StartButton_Click() If app Is Nothing Then MsgBox ("No 'application' object") Exit Sub End If Call app.Start("C:\Program Files\QWS3270 Secure\qws3270s.exe", "Host.Name", "A", 23) End Sub Private Sub UserForm_Initialize() Set app = New QWS3270AUTOMATION.Application Set screen = New QWS3270AUTOMATION.screen End Sub Private Sub ExitButton_Click() If app Is Nothing Then MsgBox ("No 'application' object") Exit Sub End If Call app.Close("A") End Sub |
Controlling 3270 Through Excel
It is on the website if you know what you are looking for
see On Jolly's site the following How do I connect to a host using QWS3270 PLUS? The VBA code in excel will emulate a HOST talking to the QWS3270. What you would habvve to do is send commands over a TCPIP connection. You will have to find the required commands that you need. TCPIP are internet command that use a different Protocol (HTTP is another internet protocol). I don't know if QWS3270 is a web-base application but if it is you could open an internet connectiont control the application rather than using TCPIP. I haven't seen any request on this site for anTCPIP interface. Wonder if it anybody has any code to do this. "PumaMan" wrote: Does anyone know how to control 3270 Through Excel?
