chart labels from numeric to text
 

I have a chart that I need to change the labels for the vertical axis
from numeric to text. How do I do that? I have tried replacing the
axis label range but it won't let me do it. I had a college course in
excel, but it has been years ago. I can't remember how to change the
data from numeric to text-I know there's a way. If you can help I
would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
