Best Regards, Azhar Hi Azhar The best thing to start with is reading some good stuff on the web. Try beginning with the Wikipedia entry for vba http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visual_...r_Applications, that's always a good starting point. This will give you just an overview of what vba is. You can follow the links as well. Then there is a bunch of really good websites, like: http://www.cpearson.com/excel/MainPage.aspx http://www.ozgrid.com/ http://www.mrexcel.com/ http://www.dailydoseofexcel.com/ http://peltiertech.com/ The language reference of microsoft is also not bad http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...ffice.11).aspx This websites are however a little advanced and more problem-based than really tutorials. I'd recommend you a book, if you have no programming experience. daily dose of excel has a good book list on the topic Regards lolo |

Hi
Start with a project - something you really want to do. I started with trying to write something to help me do class timetabling. I found "Excel VBA for Dummies" by john Walkenbach very useful when I started. Good on userforms - which will get you hooked. I also use Excel 2000 (2002, 2003...) VBA published by Wrox and written by Stephen Bullen, John Green, Rob Bovey and Robert Rosenberg. Very detailed, but you will need some experience of the Excel VBA object model to know where to look things up. Link to the websites of the authors above and also Ron de Bruin's site http://www.rondebruin.nl/ Tushar Mehta's site http://www.tushar-mehta.com/ Debra Dalgleish's site http://www.contextures.com/tiptech.html Chip Pearson's site http://www.cpearson.com/excel/MainPage.aspx - there are others too! Finally, ask help here (after first searching of course). Keep questions short and don't ask for too much in one go - that way, your question will probably be answered in a few minutes. Look at new posts on this site every day to keep you in the zone. regards Paul On Jan 20, 7:05*am, Azhar wrote: Hi, I am new to excel programming with vba . Best Regards, Azhar I agree that the best way to begin is by taking on a project you want to do. I would recommend that you begin small. I guess it also depends on how much programming experience you have. If this is your first attempt at programming, you probably want to read some basic tutorials on programming. Learn how to use the code and control toolbox. Once you understand the basic constructs, you can build bigger projects. And if you get stuck, submit your code on this forum for help. There are plenty of very good programmers here who have helped me out many times. Good luck. Andy |
