Peg a cell to an online value
 

For Excel, you can "get a US stock quote" but if I want some other value, not
necessarily a stock quote, is there a way I can peg a cell to a particular
value on line that is changing daily?

You need to web-query the value into your worksheet.

Data Import External Data New Web Query

Enter the web address at the top, and select the table in which the value is
found (click the appropriate yellow arrow box)
