problems running macros in excel 2007

A client of mine who has recently converted to Office 2007 seems to be
unable to run macros now. I checked his trust center and it says
macros always enabled and we also resaved the file as an xlsm file but
it would not run macros, most if not all, which were created in EXCEL
2002/2003 (of Office XP).

Does anyone have any clues as to why this is happening?

Unfortunately, I do not run 2007 (and my memory could be better), so I
cannot easily do a lot of follow-ups. I webexed into his system when
I first saw the problem. The macros ran fine when he saved files
under the older formats.

Thanks!
Dean

have you checked the trust center settings then the macro settings

protected workbooks

I'm not sure what "code" this refers to. Are you saying that this
procedure will allow one to run these macros despite the workbook
protection? KINDLY ANSWER

More generally, the file I sent him in EXCEL 2002 had worksheet
protection but no workbook protection. That said, when he saved it in
2007 format, I know he does have some sort of elaborate protection so
that his employees can't copy it or e-mail it out. Frankly, I haven't
really used 2007 enough to know anything about these new protection
features. I will forward this to him, though I guess he'll have to
get his IT guy to come in regarding the registry stuff. I try to stay
away from registry editing myself, although this does look somewhat
stragithforward.

Thanks, Ron!

Unfortunately, I do not have 2007 on my machine. My recollection is
that the macro settings were within the trust center. Is that worng?
Or are you saying they are in two different places?

Thanks!
Dean

I replied to this yesterday, but I don't see it posted, so I will do
it again. Kindly forgive any duplication. As I recall, the trust
center is where the macro settings are. Are you saying there is an
additional set of macro settings that need to be set also, outside of
the trust center?

Thanks!
Dean
