inserting data in a column based on data in another
 

I have data such as A2 Mary Jane Doe, A3 Mary Smith, A4 David Jones, A5
David Smith Jones, A6 Mary Jones, A7 Jack-James-John Taylor and so on.

I would like Column B to reflect the first names such as A2 Mary Jane, A3
Mary A4 David, A5 David, A6 Mary, A7 Jack-James-John.

There are 21 different possible names in column A and the number of rows
from month to month will vary.
