Survey building and analysis tool
 

Can anyone tell me of a tool for Excel that will allow me to build a survey
and then analyse the results.
I have previously compiled and analysed paper based employee satisfaction
surveys but would like to know if I can use excel to do it for me.
I have taken an excel based survey in the past so I know they exist, I've
even found surveys online built in excel but I can't seem to find any tools
out there that will help me build one myself. If anyone can recommend such a
tool and where I can find it I would be most grateful.

not sure if of any help to you but my daughter has just completed a masters
degree & for a survey she undertook, she used a tool called SPSS 15.0 for
windows which I understand is similar to Excel but has more advanced analysis
capability.
You can get student versions quite cheaply - if interested, Google to find
supply sources.

Billy Wizz -

Instead of using Excel for the survey, I suggest you consider using Survey
Monkey or some other online service.

Then, if the service's summary and simple charts are not satisfactory,
download the database of survey results, and use Excel's pivot table for
summaries and subsequent charts.

I agree with Mike 100%; I've created surveys in Excel, and on top of the
time and hassle of creating a survey in Excel, you then have to aggregate
everyone's individual data back into one workbook for analysis. There are
some ways to simplify this (for example, if they are all employees with
access to a shared network drive where you can tell Excel to save each
person's data for retrieval) but overall, it is far too difficult when
compared to free online surveys like surveymonkey that allow you to download
your data for further analysis.
