maintaining cell references

Does anyone have any ideas on how best to copy a relatively large
range while maintaining the original cell references.

The range to be copied is relative within each block, i.e. formulae
can be copied from one cell to recreate the whole table - for this
reason i wanted to avoid introducing dollar signs everywhere, although
that in itself would be fairly time consuming. I'm also trying to
avoid repeating data unnecessarily.

Hopefully someone may have come across a similar problem.

brzak - could you show a copy of the formula you're trying to copy and
the cells it will refer to (when copied across).

You would need to use $'s but it's faster than you think. When you
enter the original formula, as you put in each cell reference just
press F4 to toggle the $'s and it would just depend on which way you
want to copy your references how the $'s are applied.

You can replace = with x=, then do the copy, then replace x= with =.
