Ineed a combo box to change its list dependant on the active cell

I am having trouble with a large planning sheet project!
I am trying to get drop down combo box to offer different options dependent
on the range that the active cell falls within
ie it will have monday staff when a cell in the monday column is selected
then tue etc etc.
I have tried using vba to copy and paste the lists to the list fill range
each time the drop down button is clicked but this slows it down to grinding
pace, also tried using a combo box off the forms menu with vba changing the
list fill range using if.. then to change dependent on the active cell again
it slows downtoo much!!

Any ideas anyone
