Page Fields Converting to Text
 

I'm using VBA to cycle a pivot table through a series of fields that I've
pulled into a array variable. The data being used to fill the array is all
numeric, but after I've forced the pivot table to use the array, some of the
entries appear to be stored as text. I first detected this because some of
the lookup formulas I was using with this data stopped functioning. Also,
when I click the page field drop-down, the suspect entries are sorted to the
bottom.

I fixed the lookup problem by multiplying the page field by 1, which seemed
to work. However, I'm still trying to figure out why this is happening.
It's sort of a pain to have my page fields sorted incorrectly, so this makes
it hard to use.

Any ideas why this is happening? Let me know if I need to explain anything
more clearly.
