Default Advanced tool uses TrueType fonts to represent tiny charts

SparkCode Professional is an add-in for Excel that lets you create
sparklines - intense, simple graphics that are as small as a cell -
using TrueType fonts. It creates charts and graphs by using specially
designed fonts to represent them. This means the generated graphs
(lines, dots, columns) are actually text strings that are as big as
the text surrounding them. This has the effect of making the graphics
very portable across different applications as long as they support
text and fonts. This also presents an very elegant way of embedding
tiny charts within paragraphs of text.

Because of their text nature, the sparklines are very easily handled
within Excel. You can place these sparklines alongside each other in
nearby cells to compare them to spot trends, or put appropriate labels
beside them to describe what they represent. With these sparklines,
you will thus be able to create professional dashboard reports in
Excel with beauty and elegance. This is truely a valuable tool for
data visualization and is suitable many for financial, scientific and
business purposes.
